I have two years of experience as a professional academic copy editor and am familiar with the latest versions of most academic styles: APA, MLA, Chicago/Turabian, Vancouver, as well as some less often used formatting styles. I also worked as a college composition instructor for over 25 years.

I have worked extensively with both ESL and native English-speaking writers in all academic areas and levels, including professors.

I use Track Changes in the Review feature of Word. I correct errors in spelling, syntax, and grammar; in Track Changes I indicate areas that are not clear and give you a suggestion about what I think you mean that you can then plug in to your paper or revise as necessary. I also provide an overall assessment of the positive aspects of your paper as well as the general aspects that need improvement. I return to you a digital copy where you can see all the changes I’ve made and suggested; you will also receive a “clean” copy.

I charge $9.00/per 250 words of text, not including end references, which are $12/page. If you use a footnote-style, I charge $1 extra per page with footnotes. Even if you use one of the reference-creating programs, it is my experience that there are almost always errors. I go through your references line by line to make sure everything is formatted in accord with your chosen academic style. (If you do not have references or do not want me to check them, you may always submit a paper without them.)

I can usually return a document of ten double-spaced pages or less, plus references, within 48 hours. The time may be longer if you have a longer document or if your document requires an extensive amount of editing.

If you need an express job–a document returned within 24 hours–I can usually accommodate you. However, the price for your job will double.

Once we are in agreement as to your needs, you may send me your article by Word doc (no pdfs.). I will provide you an estimate, to be paid in advance through Venmo or Google Pay (only).
